Notes - It is said that John Washington arrived in Virginia in 1658 in a ship owned by Edward Prescott and commanded by Captain John Greene. On the voyage, a passenger named Elizabeth Richardson was suspected of being a witch by Captain Greene and his sailors. She was hung and her body tossed into the sea. Washington later received a summons to appear in court as a witness to the execution.
